Classroom Touch Panels.

Enter your Vandal ID number

 

Every Instructor is required to enter their own Vandal ID number to use the classroom systems. At the end of their session, they are required to log out of the system. Contact us for training and to have your Vandal ID number entered into the classroom access database.

Dual Projection Rooms

 

ALB 101,102,201,204.

 

Rooms with two projectors have a second touch panel.  The log-in keypad appears only on the main panel. The secondary panel is blank until after login.

Main Page

 

 

The top row of buttons are controls. 

 The bottom row selects which source should be sent to the projection system and will switch to the sub pages shown below.  

Not all rooms have camera control.  See "SPEECH ROOMS" for more information.

Projector control

 

 

After selecting the projector button, you will see the Projector controls which are off, mute and on.   The mute button will flash orange when active.  Push it again to deactivate muting.

Rooms with two projectors have controls for the extra projector on the second touch panel.  

Main Page Volume control

 

 

The program and microphone volume controls are mute, down and up. Mute buttons will flash orange when active.  Push mute again to un-mute audio. 

Not all rooms have microphones or control associated with them.

Screen control

 

 

 

The projection screen controls are up, stop and down.  Not all rooms have screen control on the touch panel. 

 

Lights

 

 

The screen on the left shows the placement of the lighting control button on the main page.  Not all rooms have lighting control on the touch panel.

Email

 

 

The screen on the left shows the placement of the eHelp button on the main page.  The screen below will be displayed after pushing the eHelp button.

 

A pre-configured message will be displayed in the message window  along with the current room number.    Type in a short message or leave the message as is and then push send.  An email message will be sent to Classroom Support and an instant text message will be sent to their cell phones

Exit / Log Out

 

Every instructor is required to log out ("Exit") of the touch panel after their class period has ended.  Remember to log out of the classroom computer before selecting "Exit".  The projector video will be muted.  If another instructor does not log in within 15 minutes, all classroom equipment will be turned off.

Source Selection

 

 

Classroom sources are located on the bottom of the main page.  The page on the left indicates that the PC is the current source which would be displayed on the projector. When a source is selected on the touch panel, a Sub-page is displayed with additional controls.

PC Sub-page

 

The classroom computer has two hard drives in it (See "Computers" link). The screen to the left indicates that the classroom computer is running on the "local" drive.   To switch to the "Lab" drive, select "Lab software".  You will then be prompted to confirm the drive switch.

The computer has to restart in order to change hard drives.  Therefore you will be prompted to confirm the switch. If you select yes, the computer will restart.

If you selected "yes" in the above example, you will see the screen on the left while the classroom computer is restarting and switching drives.

If the switch is not successful, the page to the left will be shown.   There may be an error message on the Classroom computer screen.  Clear the message and then try again.  If the switch is successful the screen will return to the PC page and will light up the current drive.

A help button was added to this page with common laptop display problems. 

Display Document Camera

 

If your documents appear to be the wrong color, remove all items off of the document camera and push the white balance button.  The process is complete when the icon returns to its previous state.  To the left are document camera lighting controls and reset.  Reset is used to return the device to factory default settings.

Display DVD player

 

 

DVD controls are located at the bottom of the preview window.  To the is left "Advanced control".   The Advanced control button will bring up additional controls that are shown below.

 

When you push "Advanced control" above, you will see the screen on the right.  Additional controls are "Menu", "Time Search", "Subtitles and Closed Captions".  Use the arrow keys and the circle (Enter) to navigate through menus.  Push "Basic control" to hide Advanced Controls.

VCR controls are located at the bottom of the preview window. 

 

 

Audio only:  push the Video button on the Main page and plug your audio device into the audio jacks shown on the help page.

Video and audio:  After the projector is turned on, push the Video button on the Main page.  The page on right will be displayed.
