Audio/Video Duplication

• Media Center staff can copy non-copyrighted MiniDV, VHS, 8mm, Hi-8, and convert foreign VHS standards (PAL, SECAM, MESECAM, NTSC).
• The Media Center has no editing facilities.
• Faculty and staff can reserve and be trained to use the dub room to prepare classroom presentations; call 885-6411.
• All dubbing is in real time.
• Express Charges are applied to all orders expected to be delivered in less than 24hrs.

Video Editing

The Media Center HAS NO EDITING FACILITIES, but does have available for checkout Panasonic  MiniDV cameras. Video can be captured off this camera via a FireWire connection or at a slightly lower resolution using a high speed USB 2.0 connection. The University Mac labs have iMovie and FireWire ports. The PC labs have high speed USB 2.0 and Microsoft Moviemaker. Personal PCs that run Windows XP also have Microsoft Moviemaker and can capture and edit movies provided the computer has a FireWire or high speed USB 2.0 port. On both the MAC and PC platforms edited movies can be saved back to the camera. The Media Center can copy MiniDV tape to DVD. Again, the Media Center HAS NO EDITING FACILITIES and provides only basic program assistance.

Delivery and Setups

The Media Center can, at the customers request: deliver, setup,  pickup equipment and provide tech support to University Academic Events, express charges are imposed on requests made less 24hrs from the scheduled time.
