Update Your Organization's Web Presence

An economical solution is now available through the CTI to allow new and existing Web sites to have the University of Idaho website's "Look & Feel". An updated University of Idaho design can be applied to your Web site upon request. This update will transform your organization's Web presence into a clean, professional layout matching the style of UI's main pages (http://www.uidaho.edu/). You will be able to edit this site with a WYSIWYG web editor such as FrontPage 2003, Expression Web 2.0, SharePoint Designer 2007, or Dreamweaver.

What You Get

The Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI) offers a UI "Look and Feel" template which we've made available to UI Departments, Institutes, Centers, Laboratories, Projects, and other Organizations for $250. This charge covers the cost associated with the research and development involved in creating and maintaining this template. Basic training on how to edit and maintain this modern template is also included. The UI "Look and Feel" template provides you with a Dynamic Web Template based on Cascading Style Sheets designed to work with FrontPage 2003, Expression Web 2.0, SharePoint Designer 2007, and Dreamweaver. So here's what you get:

• A five page site fully styled to match the UI look, flexibly ready for your content
• Simplified styles for easier content cohesion with the UI Look
• Dynamic accordion style vertical navigation
• Flat html files with a central template built for easy maintenance and editing
• Training on how to apply the UI "Look & Feel" to your content

What You Don't Get

The design displayed on the main UI Homepage is currently being applied to college level web sites. This option is implemented by the ITS Web Team and is supported by a specialized server available specifically for this implementation. Unfortunately, it will be quite some time before this option is made available to all departments and organizations below the college level. This is why we're offering an intermediate solution for departments and organizations on campus. Differences between the UI "Look & Feel" solution, and the College level sites include the following:

• No browser based web editing
• No pre-built content generated by UI databases
• No dynamic content generated by content repositories
• No future maintenance is offered as a free service

Compatibility

This template is compatible with Microsoft FrontPage 2003, Microsoft Expression Web 2.0, Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007, and Adobe Dreamweaver. If you need a different format, please contact the CTI to discuss possible options.

Pricing & Ordering

$250 covers the cost for each site to receive the graphical UI "Look and Feel", as well as the HTML, JavaScript (JS), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Dynamic Web Template (DWT) code required to make this template function. The charge covers the cost associated with the research and development involved in creating and maintaining this template.

Additionally, if you would like us to help in implementing or transferring your content, we are happy to assist with that as well. We charge $50/hr so total pricing varies depending on the size and condition of the existing Web site.
