Overview
The type of Web site you create is based largely on your needs. Here are the main advantages and disadvantages of each Web site software product CTI supports so you may make the best choice for you and your students.
Blackboard
- Tries to mimic classroom activities on the Web
- Interactive Site with tools such as:
- Threaded Discussions with strong management tools
- Automated Testing
- Online Drop box for turning in homework
- Secure environment for grades
- Student Activity Tracking
- Password required: protection by individual student login
- Offers password protection for all content
- Limited flexibility in design's look and feel
- No software to buy (use Web browser such as Firefox or IE)
- Platform independent (PC and Mac)

- Content delivery option with a WYSIWYG editor
- Non-Interactive: One way flow of info from you to students
- No password required for viewing content
- No password protection option for content
- Flexibility in design's look and feel
- Must purchase software for your office
- Platform specific for the designer (PC-only)
- Look and feel of other Microsoft products
- Request a FrontPage Web

- Made by Adobe/Macromedia
