Copy files to Personal UI Academic Web Space

Overview

Copying files to your Personal Academic Web space is relatively easy. Faculty and staff may contact the ITS Help Desk to insure that you have a personal academic Web space available.

There are several methods available for copying files to your Personal Academic Web space. If you're using Dreamweaver or another sFTP client, you will find directions here: Mac or Windows. If you're using Microsoft FrontPage or Microsoft Expression Web, publish directly to your Web space using the instructions below.

On-Campus Faculty & Staff

  • Open Microsoft FrontPage or Microsoft Expression Web
  • Open your site
  • Select File
  • Select Publish Site...

  • From the Remote Web Site Properties box, select File System
  • Browse to locate your personal Web space which should be mapped to your S: drive
  • Press OK

  • Press the Publish Web site button

  • Check your site in a Web browser to make sure it functions as desired.

Off-Campus Faculty & Staff

If you're located off-campus, you may find it simpler to use a secure FTP client to copy your files to your Web space. Instructions are available here: sFTP for Mac or sFTP for Windows

Alternatively, you may setup a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection to your Personal Academic Web space and then map your Web space as a drive letter—just as you would have on-campus. Please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance in connecting to your Personal Academic Web space using VPN. Once you have your personal Web space mapped as a drive, use the On Campus instructions to copy files to your Web space.
