Please remember to add ALT text tags to all images! Blind people and those with low vision often use assistive technologies such as screen readers. Adding an ALT text tag to each image detailing a text equivalent of the image enables a user with a vision disability to understand the information provided. UI Web sites using images should provide equivalent text for images that convey information by using the ALT tag. If an image conveys important information beyond what is in its alternative text, please provide an extended description.
Save & Preview Web Site
-
To save your Web page, select
File > Save - To preview the Web site in a Web browser, select
File > Web page Preview
- If you don't see your new edits, be sure your files are saved in FrontPage and refresh your browser window. Remember: your browser window shows you a static view of a Web page and must be refreshed to force it to show any changes just saved in FrontPage.

Vista Compatibility with FrontPage
Known Issue
“Every time I try to create a link to a file in my site, it
crashes...”
Possible Fixes
- Be sure that you have the latest critical updates from
Microsoft for both Vista and Office 2003.
Microsoft Update: http://www.update.microsoft.com
- Upgrade to Microsoft Expression Web (UI Bookstore). There
may be some conversion needed on your site to work with
Expression Web. Contact the CTI
for tips on conversion.
- Enter the Hyperlink manually in the code:
<a href="address_here.htm">text to display</a>
- Try right-clicking on the FrontPage shortcut, selecting
Properties, open the "Compatibility tab", and running the
program in "Compatibility mode" and/or changing the "Privilege
level" to "Run this program as an Administrator".
- Publish the Web locally to your hard drive and work from there. According to the references below, FrontPage seems to be somewhat more stable when working locally, rather than directly on the server. You will then have to republish the site back to the server when you're finished editing.
