Get new skills with SkillSoft and Build a Better U Through a campus-wide agreement for e-learning, SkillSoft Content Solutions will be
accessible to every faculty and staff member at the University
of Idaho. SkillSoft can help University employees build their skills in multiple areas, including business, communications and
technology.

To access SkillSoft, go to: http://uidaho.skillport.com. To login, use your myUIdaho account. The initial password is: welcome, all lower-case. Once you login, you will need to change your login and password. If employees encounter trouble, contact Dan Noble at 885-6841 or e-mail sa-chair@uidaho.edu. Employees also can contact Derek Johnson if login troubles persist. He can be reached at 885-3860 or derekj@uidaho.edu.

After successful login, employees can view the User Guide that assists with navigation through the online system showing how to add courses to My Plan and how to best utilize the Search-and-Learn feature.

SkillSoft offers a variety of courses; the latest certification and technological updates; scenario-based simulations; mentoring opportunities; preparation exams; toolkits that help transfer knowledge and skills to the real world; job aides that help participants apply new skills; informative summaries and articles; and custom content options. SkillSoft provides learning resources in many areas, including:

  • Information Technology Software Development, OS and Server Technologies, Network Technologies, Enterprise Database Systems and Web Design;
  • Desktop Skills Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes Six, Internet Explorer and Windows XP and 2000.
  • SkillSoft also provides Referenceware, which is the largest online resource to unabridged texts from leading industry publishers in the areas of engineering, technology and business.
