RE:     Move from WebCT to Blackboard Now!

If you have not yet attended a Blackboard Orientation Session, the CTI invites you attend one of the following opportunities to learn about Blackboard and how to upgrade for the coming Spring Semester. Please work with your Teaching Assistant to coordinate your move to Blackboard together.

The CTI is asking ALL instructors who plan to teach in the Spring and Summer, and wish to use a course management system, to work now with CTI to set up their courses in Blackboard to have the maximum length of time to receive help and assistance. CTI is not creating course spaces or moving existing content unless requested.

Register for an in-depth orientation in a small group setting.

Signup for a Blackboard Workshop

Finally, you can watch and listen to orientation information online on-demand, then based on this information fill out the request form:

  1. Blackboard Online Orientation
  2. Blackboard Course Request

If you have already attended an Orientation, and wish to get one-on-one help, please email cti@uidaho.edu to schedule a meeting. As you may already know, Blackboard Inc. merged with WebCT Inc. in February 2006—forming a single company. By moving to Blackboard CE Enterprise License, the UI is taking the logical upgrade path for the software. Blackboard Inc. plans to discontinue support for the current WebCT software so all UI classes must be moved to the new Blackboard platform PRIOR to the Summer term. WebCT will not be operational effective the start of summer 2008.

Thank You.
