RE: Explore the New Blackboard
Software
The next version of WebCT software, now called Blackboard,
is currently being piloted by UI faculty this summer and fall. While we have
all the needed of volunteers for Fall 2007 trial use with students, I would
like to extend to you an early opportunity to begin learning about
Blackboard now, targeting a class you plan to teach in Spring 2008.
Other opportunities throughout the fall from CTI to help you move to the new
software include the following informational sessions in the Commons room:
Moving To Blackboard - What You Need to Know
CTI's goal is to be fully moved to the Blackboard
by SUMMER 2008.
If you are interested in taking part now, please fill out the request form
linked below for either a fresh Blackboard class, or to have CTI
migrate content from an existing WebCT spring class (student data will not
be transferred). Before filling out the form, please do your best to remove
no longer used files and tools in your class so we may migrate just the
content you need. Contact
David Schlater
if you have any questions.
Request Form for Spring/Summer 2008 Blackboard Course
Once you have made the Blackboard course request, please sign up
for an orientation session held in the CTI so we may introduce you to
the product, show you new features, and share best practices:

If you are not located in the Moscow area, please feel free to email
David Schlater
so we may set up an alternative orientation via other technology.
