RE:       Blackboard HTML Creator Status

The Advanced HTML Creator in Blackboard is enabled for instructors, but will remain disabled for students becauseunder certain limited circumstancesit does not function correctly.

In our testing with Windows XP, the HTML Creator works with both Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox, however certain Browser add-ons such as the Google Toolbar under Firefox 2 cause conflicts. Disabling the add-ons will fix the issue. Macintosh Safari users may now use the HTML Creator safely except in the Discussion area where problems continue to exist. These outstanding issues have been reported to Blackboard in detail.

We recommend that you check your settings to make sure the HTML editor does not come on by default by going to:

• My Settings
• My Tool Options
• Uncheck Start the HTML Creator by default
