Blackboard is Web-based software used by instructors
to build and manage their online instruction Web sites. You must provide a myUIdaho account
and password / passphrase to gain access to your Blackboard sites. The
Blackboard username and password / passphrase are the same as your
myUIdaho account.
Please refer to the Scheduled Outages listed on the right to be
sure Blackboard is available during the time you are attempting to login.
Password Expiration
myUIdaho account passwords
expire every 90 days. myUIdaho account
account passphrases
expire every 400 days. Thus, it may need to be
changed. Please keep this in mind if you
experience problems logging into Blackboard. You may reset your password / passphrase
anytime. Refer to the
UI password / passphrase Policy.
Students are required to have a name@vandals.uidaho.edu email address
PRIOR to receiving a Blackboard
account. Please see the
Student Email Policy for additional information and help on
setting up a student email account. All official UI email, including
Blackboard messages, will be sent to this email address. Please check your
Vandal Live
email
account regularly.
Scheduled Outages
Blackboard Session Time-Out After 30 minutes of Inactivity
Maintenance every Morning 3:00 am PT Duration: 30 minutes
Maintenance every Friday 5:30 pm PT Duration: 30 minutes to several hours
The Blackboard username is the same as your myUIdaho account (ex:

What is my password / passphrase?

Your Blackboard password / passphrase is the same as myUIdaho account password / passphrase. If you don't know what that is, go to
http://support.uidaho.edu
and reset the myUIdaho account
password / passphrase, or contact the
ITS Help Desk at (208) 885-HELP or
helpdesk@uidaho.edu.
Passwords
expire every 90 days (8 to 14 characters in
length)
Passphrases
expire every 400 days(greater than 14 characters in
length)
If you're unable to login to Blackboard because you don't know
your current myUIdaho account password / passphrase or if your password / passphrase has expired (myUIdahoaccount
account passwords
expire every 90 days and myUIdaho account passphrases
every 400 days), you may reset it by logging into
http://support.uidaho.edu/
and choosing ChangePasswords from
the left menu. You must log into this system with an active myUIdaho
account. If you are a new UI student, please change
your VandalWeb PIN and update your password via
http://www.vandalsetup.uidaho.edu.
If you can't login to
http://support.uidaho.edu, the next step is
to reset your VandalWeb PIN. Your PIN is the password used to access
VandalWeb,
which is where you access your official UI course
information. The Help Desk will not
change passwords or PIN information over the phone so you must
visit the Help Desk office located in the TLC 128 in person to do this.
Alternatively,
the Registrar's office will reset your VandalWeb PIN online or by
phone.
ATTENTION:After
resetting your PIN, you MUST change your myUIdaho account password at
http://support.uidaho.edu/
BEFORE you attempt to log in to Blackboard.
