Overview


The following tutorial shows how to reorder and hide/show columns in the Grade Book. Each Grade Book view tab (Grades, Members, View All, Custom View, SCORM Grades) has its own independent display order. The order for a specific view tab can be changed by pressing the Reorder Columns button when viewing that tab. If you wish all of the views to display in the same order, use the Reorder Columns button for each view.

  • Under the Teach Tab, click on Grade Book
  • Click on View All tab
    Note:     Students see their Grade Book columns ordered in the same view as the View All tab order.
  • Click the Reorder Columns button.
  • You are now able to reorder the grade book columns and also mark them as hidden or visible for your grade book view.

Reorder Columns

  • Check the box next to the column(s) you would like to move (1)
  • Identify a column directly below the location you wish to move the selected column(s) to and click on the diagonal arrow iconMove Selected Items Above. (2)
  • The column(s) you checked should now appear above the selected column. Continue sorting in this manner, as needed.
  • Press the Save button to save your changes. (3)

Reorder Columns

Note: It is best to name your assessments, assignments, and other grade book columns such that they appear in chronological order (i.e. 01 title, 02 title, 03 title...) when they are displayed alphabetically. Although it is possible to define the order in which assessments are displayed, a problem in Blackboard causes all defined sorting to revert to an alphabetical order whenever the Web Links tool is entered during session.
