Reset a Submission

Overview

Sometimes it is necessary to reset a student's quiz attempt to allow them to take it again. You may select a student's attempt and "reset" it anytime.

Due date already passed?
If you have a student who needs to retake an assessment (quiz, exam, etc.), and the due date has already passed, you may also need to change the due date for the assessment and then selectively release the assessment to the student. After resetting their submission, setup the Selective Release Criteria for the student.

Reset a Submission

  • Under the Teach Tab, click on Assessments.
  • Click on the ActionLinks ActionLinks icon icon next to the assessment you want to view submissions for.
  • Select View Submissions.

  • Click on the Date field of the submission you want to reset.
  • Alternatively, you may also just see View Attempt # next to an In Progress. This means that the student started, but never submitted the assessment.
    • If the assessment is In Progress, you will first have to press the Force Submission button inside the submission, and then click on the Attempt Date to continue to the next step to reset the submission.

  • Click on Reset Attempt
